  1. Herbs are small plants, a lot of them are to be seen growing wild along the country roads.
    Thyme, rose-mary and lavender grow in gardens and have their uses. Thyme is used for flavouring and the others are used in perfumes. The poppies, camamile, hartshorn and marsh mallow grow by the roadside and are much used by the country people for all sorts of cures. The marsh mallow is boiled down and used for sprains.
