  1. During Cromwell attack on Drogheda there were churchs destroyed, In St. Peters church a holy water was smashed to bits by the soldiers.
    The next say the soilders were astonished to find the holy water font whole again. They smashed the font again but the same thing happened. At last they gave it up. This font is still to be seen. The church was taken over by the protestants when Cromwell left the town.
