  1. The coast around Drogheda is wide and spacious but it is not often a boat sinks around here. I am going to tell one that was told to me a long time ago. It happened at Mornington.
    About fifty years ago a small sailing vessel called the Marcus left here for Garston. It was just at Mornington when it was noticed that the rigging was cut. After a while the mast fell and destroyed the front of the ship which was sinking fast. A life-boat put out to its aid and took the sailors off. The Marcus sank but the
