- (continued from previous page)near to visit Lady Well in Slane. The well is supposed not to spring up until the night before. On "All Souls Eve" concannon is made and left on the hob, becuase the souls are supposd to come and take it.
On Christmas day it was a custom for everyone to remain in his own house. On St Stephen's Day crowds of boys go around, and sing and dance and collect money. When they have a good lot gathered, some of them, have a dance on the money, while others opend it in a public-house.
