  1. (continued from previous page)
Still by the coersion I am bound,
And my sons are sent to jail.
But I do not fret I'll be free yet,
    Said poor old Grannuaile.
    VII
I thought she had a splendid harp,
Down by her side let fall,
She played the tunes called Brian Boruma, Garryowen, and Tara's Halls
God save Ireland was the neset.
And the martyers died in jail.
And I thought it was the last sight I saw,
    Of my poor old Grannuaile.
    VIII
I woke then from my slumber,
    Excited in delight,
I thought it was the clear day light,
But I found it was the night.
I looked all round I could not see,
    No valley, hill, or dale,
And then I thought of the dreams I had
    And poor old Grannuaile.
