   For Toothache (a) Hedgehog's tooth carried in pocket (b) Potato found on road and carried in pocket (c) Salt rubbed to gums around affected tooth (d) Iodine in cotton wool inserted in cavity of tooth For Sudden Illness - such as stomach pains - Three spoons of water in which salt has been dissolved is taken by the patient - and the remainder thrown into fire - the patient then going out under fresh air. For Warts - A snail is rubbed to the warts and then hung or tied on a branch of a tree to die. As the snail is disappearing the warts are supposed to get cured. For Burn - A bottle of snow water is kept in many houses for rubbing to burns; this is said to relieve the pain. For Fits in Dogs - Paraffin oil poured into the animal's ear is believed is believed to give certain relief.
