A gifted poet named Saor Mór O'Halloran lived in Rineen about three miles from Miltown Malbay about three miles a hundred and ten years ago.He used always wear a hat ad a capfor fear of the cold.He used snuff very heavily in a manner that it used run down along his along his waist coat.He used also wear a riding coat and it happened that he left it up on a rick of turf one dayand a cow came and chewed the cape of it.She left it full of different cut.
This man used to write a lot of family histories .One day as he was walking along the road near his own home a stranger who was looking for him came along and asked him did he know where around here did Saor Mór O'Halloran live.
"I do " said Saor "he is not far from here",
"Do you know him ?"asked the stranger or "what kind of man is he"?
This is what "Saor "said:-Bíonn hata agus cupán air ,
Ar eagla roimh an bhfuacht
Tá dath an snísín fé'n a dhá psónncan ,
Agus tamall anuaas uatha
Tá gearradh ar a chábarach bhfuil,
