When the barracks of Borrisoleigh were being burnt...

When the Carracks of Borrisoleigh were being burnt there were only five R. I. C. men in it. That night two or three lorries of Free State soldiers came to the suqare and they had petrol and it is said that they not able to take the barrack. The bit of damage they done was to wound the sergeant on the arm. His name was Mr. Tape. When the fight was over the canon of the church came up and praised them and said he thought they would never hold it.
