    Mrs. Carty is a travelling woman and is known all around the district of Horse and Jockey. Her husband and her children live in a caravan outside Thurles, while she and her son go out the country selling soap, delf, tiepins, studs, and other small things like that.
    Kate Banning locally known as "Holy Saint Joseph" often visits our district. SHe travels on foot and does not sell anything. She is not a married woman and travels by herself.
