  2. Long ago Martin Casey, Castleconnell went from house to house teaching the children. The schools were held indoors. He went in to an old out house and all the children of the district flocked to the house. The parents of the children paid him. When he was very far from his own house he lodged in one of the neighbour's houses.
    The teachers taught Irish Geography and Irish History. Irish was spoken by the teachers and pupils.
