    were "The drawing of Frawleys hay" and "Martin Shearys Ball". Mickey Kennedy Lackamore made a song called " The Road between newport and Rear Cross". He was a labouring man. He died in Lackamore.

  2. The Famine

    The famine did a good deal of harm in this district. The potatoes decayed in the drills and in the pits. The English Government supplied the district with meal and seed to grow the potatoes next year. People had to go into the poor houses also.
