  1. A Great Swimmer
Mr Willington who lives at St. Kieran's Rathcabbin was a great swimmer in his time. He won a great many prizes at regattas and also prizes for high diving. Once when out with friends on Lough Derg, the day got very stormy and the boat capsized and all were thrown into the water. Two of the gentlemen who were with him were drowned. Mr Willington swam three miles with one hand and brought a lady safely to the shore at Balleragh.
