In the evening I return home
With my younger brother Mike.
Who doesnt always walk to school
As he often takes his bike,
The day's work now being over
I'm ready for the doss.
Where I dream of all the fights I had
In that school near Loughtane cross.

The master asked the boys
To try and make a verse or two
To which he'd give a prize
