  1. One night as a man was going to Newport he saw a turkey on the road. He hit the turkey with the whip to make it keep out of his (ito) way. When he looked again the turkey was as big as himself. She ran after him and when he was going a passed a house the turkey let a roar. The man got a bad fright and had to be carried home.
