    many others this well is supposed to have moved two or three times. Tradition has that its original place was in the adjoining field from where it removed to the grounds of Kenmare Castle and hence to its present position by the roadside.
    The beautiful spring well was the main water supply for the inhabitants of the Hospital until recently. The town is now equipped with a splendid water scheme erected a few years ago, but still St. Johns well is the source of the supply.
    Convenient to the well is erected a power house from which a pipe leads into the well and water is pumped
