- (continued from previous page)The old people had an instrument which gave a remarkably correct weather forecast. They got an empty jamjar, a bottle, and a piece of cork. The jar was half filled with water; the cork was pushed into the bottle which was also half filled with water. The bottle was inserted upside down in the jar. Position of each told of the weather.
