  1. The land of Drominoona was owned by Mr. Devonport. He was an officer in Cromwells army and when he came to Ireland Devonport remained here.
He was a bad man and many evictions took place on his account. The evicted people went to the work house or to Connemara.
When Cromwell made plantations in Ireland Mr. Devonport's ancestors got possession of the land.
When farmers sons got married their fathers divided the land between them (the sons).
When the tenants had a fat pig or a rich crop the land lord kept it for his own use.
He died whilst attending a court in New Castle West.
After him came his sister. His ghost was seen by a woman from the Mental Hospital in Ballinacourty.
