- Foinn's Rock is situated about a quarter of a mile north of the river Maigue from Bruree. It is a very large stone, and the following story is told about it.
One day "Fionn" was standing on the hill of ArdPartrick. He saw a bird down on the banks of the Shannon. He caught this large rock and threw it at the bird. As he was about to throw it, it slipped out of his hand and landed in the river Maigue. It is since known as "Fionn's Rock."- Faisnéiseoir
