Once there was a witch whose name was Biddy Airly.

Once there was a witch whose name was Biddy Airly. She lived in Clare. There was certain man and he was tormented from pishogues and some one told him to go to Biddy Airly. So he went to her and she gave him some powder to throw on the fire and to say some words. The hens were over the floor on a perch and when he threw the powder on the fire, the cock jumped off the perch, and walked on one leg, and he closed one eye. When the cock did that, the man knew who was doing the pishogues. It was a man with only one leg and one eye.
