    Knocknaboula.
    The name of the townland I live in is Knocknaboula. People say that in former days the people used to keep their small share of cattle in paddocks, and that is how the hill got its name. It is situated southeast of the parish of Loughill. It is a rather a big townland and the population would be about two hundred. There are about thirty families, the greater number being farmers. The dwellings are mostly all one storey and the majority of the houses of those who emigrated to America in the bad times are still to
