    centre of the floor with the boiled potatoes thereon, and the family all around it with their piggins of thick milk eating to their heart's content. The meal over, the table was put aside by one of the walls, and left there until required next.
    By means of Querns the very old people ground the wheat, and thus made their own flour. Oats and barley were ground in the same way. Oaten bread was very good, but the bread made from wheaten flour was looked upon as a luxury and was used only by those who could afford it.
