  1. I have asked many old people to tell me something about the Fianna, but I was disappointed in every case. Seemingly there is no story extant in this parish concerning those old heroes. Neither are there any tales told dealing with Oisin's meeting with St. Patrick.
    All the townlands in this district have Irish names, for instance, Glounycommane, Knockilla, Knocknamuc, Gortnascregga, Kilberehert, but the place name, 'Folach Fiadh' does not occur.
