   JAMES KEEFE, Kiluacrane, Banteer, was a great mower. He could cut about an acre and a half in 12 hrs. This man died about three years ago, aged 65. He was buried in Cullen graveyard. Co. Cork

   TIMOTHY BUCKLEY and his BROTHER DAN of Dromtariffe, Co. Cork raced a horse harnessed to a trap, from Dromtariffe to Boherbue a distance of four miles. The Buckleys won easily. When the Kanturk-Newmarket Railway Line was being laid JAMES SHEEHAN, Lyre, Banteer walked from his home to Newmarket, a distance of 13 miles in 1 1/2 hrs. and worked at this line. At the end of the day's work he walked home again and then had only a few hours left for sleep as the work at this line commenced at 8 o'c. each morning. TIMOTHY MC.CARTHY Kiliuacrane, Banteer was a noted dancer. His favourite dance was the reel. MICHAEL CONNELL, Stoneyfield, Kilcorney, was a great footballer. He often brought victory to his own people & was known far & near.
