- Near the Holy Well in Dromtariffe, Co. Cork, grew a tree and the owner of the land wished for some reason to cut it down. When his men had a portion of the tree cut throuh, the trunk opened out and to their dismay they saw, what they took to be crosses, embedded in the wood. These crosses were right down through the tree.
The men ceased the cutting at once and did their best to fix up the portion that had been interfered with. The tree was supposed to be a "blessed" one and is still to be seen there. - You are not logged in, but you are welcome to contribute a transcription anonymously.
