    by a spell. The churning was done
    by hand. The people know when the
    butter is made by the noise in the
    churn, it makes a double crash when
    the butter is made. Water is poured
    in when the butter milk is drawn off to
    wash the butter, it was afterwards washed
    with cold spring water, it is then salted.
    I did not hear any local sayings about
    churning. The butter milk is drank by the
    people and farm animals.
