  1. There is a field in my father's farm called "Cradle Field" because it has the shape of a cradle. Another field called "Well Field" because there are three wells in it. Another field called "Horse's Field" because horses were kept there usually. Another field called "Big Field" because it is big. Another field called "Lacka" because it is high. Another called "Glen" because it has a hollow. There is a rock called "Paddy's Rock" because a man lived there by the name of Paddy McAuliffe in Glenamuckla, Newmarket Co. Cork.
In the townland of Taur the Kings of Munster lived for some time. Then they went to Cahel in the Co. Tipperary. There is a hill in the townland of Taur, in the parish of Newmarket in the Co. of Cork, called Both Cartaig. A man lived there for some time by the name of Cartac. He built a hut there are then he went to Lismore where he founded a great school.
