  1. David O'Carroll (P.T.P.) of Glencarney Rockchapel
    was a noted walker, he travelled long distances on foot
    It is said, "he often walked from his home in Glencarney
    to Newmarket a distance of six miles in half-an-hour
    Told by Thos. Keane Commons, Newmarket Co. Cork.
    He obtained same from his father. John Keane

    Mrs. Barry (P.TP) of commons. Meelin. Co Cork walked
    several long journeys to fairs and markets, her husband
    was a dealer in cattle, and she usually accompanied
    him to fairs and markets, and it said she often
    walked distances up to 30 mls in a day.
    Told by Corns McAuliffe Cummer, Meelin, obtained
    same from his father Jerh McAuliffe Cummer. Meelin

  2. On another occasion Jerh O'Keeffe attended a pattern held
    at a place called Guiney's bridge, which is situated
    in the parish of Brosna, Co. Kerry, at a jumping contest
    held there, he jumped across the road and its two
    fences with one bound a distance of 26 feet.
