There is a fort near Shannon Vale Clonakilty called Tawnies Fort, and in the middle of the fort, there is a passage which leads to Fern Hill, and from that to Ballyduvane. The passage is very narrow. It is the Leperacans who built it, so that they could go from fort to fort at night.
