    her east to Castletown, as he wouldn't be allowed to melt her anywhere only in some backward strand, and South Drom was the only suitable place. Two or three side-cars of people used come out from Castletown every day looking at her - the Dursey men used ferry them in and out and they might get a half-pint from them now and then as it was cheap.
    But that was the job - to bring her east. In the end they gave up the idea. There was oil coming out of her - fine clean oil and the people collected a share of it. After a fortnight or so the smell was getting too strong, so they towed her out again into the middle of the Sound and the ebb-tide took her out. She came down near Garnish next, and they towed her in again. They cut off pieces of her and put them in barrels in order to get the oil out of them, but they got no market for it. The Garnish men had to leave her go away again after a while. Her jaws were so big that a man could stand up inside in her mouth when
