- There is a forth about eight miles from my home and is said there are fairies in it.
A Protestant went drawing sand from the forth, but he was told it was not right to take sand from the forth. Being a Protestant he did not believe in old saying.
He went drawing the sand but his two horses went blind the next day and could not be cured.
