- Story of a Leipreachan
The Leipreachan are not so plentiful as they were. They are usually found making shoes This is an old story I heard about a Leipreachan and a little boy who lived near Frenchpark or somewhere about the wood. Once upon a time there lived a little boy named Pat McGrann. He lived with his mother in a small house at the foot of the hill. Around it was a wooden fence for the chickens. Pat wished to grow up and earn plenty of money so that his mother might live in a fine house and wear rich dresses. Every night Pat's mother used to kneel in front of the fire and blow the sods into a warm glow. Then she put two sacks of straw near the fire. There made two comfortable beds for herself and Pat on which the slept until morning(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
