  1. Story of a Leipreachan
The Leipreachan are not so plentiful as they were. They are usually found making shoes This is an old story I heard about a Leipreachan and a little boy who lived near Frenchpark or somewhere about the wood. Once upon a time there lived a little boy named Pat McGrann. He lived with his mother in a small house at the foot of the hill. Around it was a wooden fence for the chickens. Pat wished to grow up and earn plenty of money so that his mother might live in a fine house and wear rich dresses. Every night Pat's mother used to kneel in front of the fire and blow the sods into a warm glow. Then she put two sacks of straw near the fire. There made two comfortable beds for herself and Pat on which the slept until morning
