Two giants lived long ago named Tom and John. One was as tall as a spear and the other was as broad as a cock of hay They used to make the women bake big oven caked and the men had to bring them turf. They used to steal cows, sheep, and pigs. At last the people made up their minds to kill the giants. So two men set out one day. They brought a mouse and a bee. When they went in, the two giants were in bed and the mouse and the bee went into the bed. The bee began stinging. The two giants got mad and one thought it was Tom. The other thought it was John. The bee kept on stinging and the mouse kept on biting. At last the two giants jumped out of bed. Tom hit John and John hit Tom At last their two heads rolled off. The boys were glad that the giants were killed So they went home laughing
