  1. Once upon a time a giant was on the top of Tory Hill and he had a stone in his hand. He meant to throw the stone to Slieve-na-mban but it slipped off his little finger and it landed in a field in Ballynooney, which belongs to Mr. John Cashin. The stone is 12 feet high and it is said that it is as many feet down in the ground.
    Once upon a time a man lived in Inistiogue. He used to rob money and other things from the rich and give it to the poor. When the police found out this they were trying to catch him but when he heard this he turned the horse's shoes back to front and if he went in a northerly direction the shoe
