  1. There are many places where fairs were held but they are not held in them now. There was one held once a month in a 6 acres field near Rosbercon. It was always held on a Monday. Another fair was held in Mullinakill near the school it was called the "Beac Fair" It was held on a Tuesday every fort-night. There was always a fair held in Hoban's lane in Lukeswell it is called the "Cabeen Fair". A fair is still held in Waterford, on the 25th of October. It is called the great old "onion fair" It is always richly attended because it is said to be the best fair of the year.
