The Mulligans of Drumquill, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan made creels and baskets.

The Mulligans of Drumquill, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan made creels and baskets.
The Creel is a homemade basket strapped on the shoulders for carrying many things such as turf.
The people would take the butter to town in them and take the groceries home in them. There were small creels made for the small children that would just hold as much as they could carry.
