  1. Long ago the people lived on oatenbread and oaten-porridge. There was no bicycles nor motors in those days. When they were going a long journey, they took some oat cake with them. Then when they wanted food, they ate their oat cake. They sometimes took their horses with them, and carts. They went to church on horse-back, or walking.
