    employs a "meireal" for a day or two. The potatoes planted in ridges are dug with spades. The potatoes are generally left on the ridges until the children come home from school to pick them. When they are picking them they put must separate the large ones from the small ones. The small ones are called póicíns and the large ones are called tubers. These are then put in different holes and are covered with rushes and further secured by covering with clay.
