  1. There was an old school at one time in John Claney's meadow in the townland of Trimalawn, Ballintogher, Co. Sligo.
    The teacher's name was Master Quinn and he charged the pupils one shilling per week. There were no desks in the school as there are in our school. The seats were oak beams resting on stones along the walls. The master taught, Reading, Writing and Arithmatic. There were no copy-books.
