- Long ago the Irish were very fond of singing and story telling. There was an old man named Thomas Foley who lived in Cloonamahon and he was a famous storyteller. The people used to come long journeys to hear him tell stories on a Winters night. There was also another great storyteller named Bartholomew Flynn somaly in Carrickbanagher who was also at famous story-teller. There was also great singers in this district. There were two brothers who lived in Carrickbanagher named John and James Pilkington, and they were also great singers.
