  1. There are many old forts to be seen around my district. All these forts are in view of each other. No one ever interferes with these forts because the old people said it was not right to do anything with them.
    The old people always said it was not right to cut a tree or take sand or stones out of it because the fairies would follow you for ever and also there would not be any luck in the house for so many years.
    The old people also said that it was the Danes and these fighting men that made these high forts to be firing from them and to see the foe coming on.
    It was also said that these men made these deep sandpits so that men coming riding on horses would never see them and
