  1. About two miles from Collaney and about four miles from Collooney, there is a rock a very high projecting rock, on the road leading from Kinagrelly to Lugawarry on the main road to Ballisodare. It is called the hungry rock. It can also be seen for miles around that same place. It is an old custom that any person passing this rock, is supposed to throw in a a stone to a hollow in a flag at the foot of it.
    There is a heap of stones on the flag at the bottom of this rock.
