  1. When setting out on a journey if necessary to turn back - sit down & that takes away the bad luck.
    It is unlucky to meet a red- haired man or women when starting on a journey - walk two or three steps with him or her or get him to go with you them the bad luck is taken away.
    It is unlucky for a child to be born on Whit Sunday. The newly born child is placed on the ground and a sod of earth placed on it, left for a few minutes then removed and the people believe that the ill -luck is taken away.
