But some of them alas are gone three thousands miles from home
But no matter where they chance to roam their thought come back I know.
To the lovely scenes around lough Ford where Leitrims waters flow. This song was composed by a man named McGowan from Auhoo. Aged fifty years.
- There are a number of animals on our farm - cows, calves, pigs, a horse and an ass. The cow-house is generally built of stone and roofed with iron. It is fitted with a groove, a manger for holding the fodder and wooden stakes. The chain for tying the cows are(continues on next page)
