Nancy Scutt was a great traveller and story teller. She came to this town very often. Whenever she came she stayed for a night. The first thing she did was put down a "cast". This was a number of potatoes which she roasted in the fire. When it was cooked she ate her fill with salt and buttermilk. She had an armchair in which she sat and after a feed like this she could not get out of the chair, so she carried it around and it fastened to her.
