- (continued from previous page)forts. There was a fort in Thomas Treaceys land in Lishennaheilta. There were a lot of people supposed to be living in the fort and the people of the village were working as slaves for them. When a man got too old he used to be brought into the fort and put to death. There was a man from the village working as a slave and when he got old he stayed at home and he send his son instead of him when his son started to work a man come out of the fort and asked him why his father did not come and the boy hit him with a shovel and killed him. Then all the people went into the fort and there was no body within there was a small bag of gold left on a stone table in the fort. The people took the gold and went out when they went home and kept the gold and no one ever went into the fort since. There was a fort between Glenamaddy and Killkerrin There was a tree out of the fort growing out over the road and one day a man went to the(continues on next page)
