    The king kept his promise and his head was cut off and left on the gate. The time was then up for the boys to meet at the crossroad and so they met and all told their adventures to one another. The other boys were in a bad way for they got no employment the cripple took them all to the kings palace and he married the Queen and he kept the ragged pony and they all lived happily afterwards.
