    the fortune that night. He might give a few pounds to the bride to buy a wedding dress. The next day they would all go to town and he would buy the ring. The next day of importance would be the wedding day. The husband would invite all his friends and neighbours to his house. The would all bring horses and cars and go to the bride's house. They would be entertained all day with a big pot of boiled eggs and rolls of butter and bread and some drink. In the evening they would all harness up the horses. The bride's parents would have their own friends and neighbours. They would all go to the bride's parish church and when the last one would go out of the house they would fling stones after them for luck. The first to come to the bridegroom's house would be a man on horseback. The bride and groom would be the next and the would call that the "Hauling Home". They
