    May had no family. Before the marriage the bride and groom used to ask their friends and neighbours to a party held in the bride's home. A man on horseback used to come first to the bridegroom's home after the marriage. Then the bride and groom would come next. They called that the "Hauling Home." They never went away on a honeymoon.They only went for long drives on side-cars and there used be big bonfires lit in their honour when the would be coming home. In a month after the bride and groom would go to her parent's house and that would be called the "Month's Visit."
