Custom is paid on all animals. Sixpence a head on cattle and horses and threepence on all other animals. The custom is paid to the town commission.
When animals are sold luck-money is always given. When young horses are sold halters and ropes are also given. The principal local fairs are sheep fairs, cattle fairs, horse fairs and pig fairs.
