  1. The names the local roads are known by are "Baidte" "Fishpond" and the Ibar Kelly. "Baidte" road leads from Ballymana National school to the crossroads of Mannin. It got its name from a man who was drowned there in former times as he was coming to a fair in Loughrea. Ibar Kelly road got it's name from a village which is situated near it. It leads from Ibar Kelly to Roxboro. The fishpond road leads from Roxboro to Killchreest. It got it's name from a fishpond which is situated near it. There are no very old roads in this district. The road leading from Ballymana NS to the main road leading to Galway was made during the
